Before the invention of paper, people recorded documents on drawings in caves or engraved on clay steles, and later people used leather to store documents.

Paper was invented to replace the stone, wood, bark, and skin that humans had written on earlier. After that, the technique of paper production continued to develop.

According to the history, in the year of 105 AD, the Chinese invented paper. The inventor is Ts’ai Lun. He took the inside of mulberry bark and bamboo fiber and mixed them with water, then smashed it with a wooden tool. He then pour the mixture over the cloth and make paper. Since then, paper has begun to be widely used in China.
 
The introduction of paper has paved the way for many other industries to develop, including printing, packaging, publishing, newspaper, and art. After that, pulp mill was first manufactured in the United States by William Rittenhouse Nicholas-Louis Robert, by refining and launching a continuous production model in 1799.

The development of packaging paper

Corrugated fiberboard was invented in the 18th century. It is used as packaging for most types of products sinceit is durable, tough, resistant to mechanical impacts, and convenient to transport. In addition, corrugated fiberboard can be reproduced, saving raw materials and decreasing environmental pollution.

In 1894, corrugated fiberboard was cut into the first boxes. Well Fargo began to use corrugated boxes to transport small packages by sea.

10 years later, corrugated carton was first approved as a material for waterway transportation, and generally used to transport grains.
