Manufacturing cardboard paper beds - An optimal solution
Manufacturing cardboard paper beds - An optimal solution
Producing low-cost cardboard paper beds - an optimal solution for field hospitals and isolation areas during the Covid-19 pandemic.
While the Covid-19 pandemic broke out strongly in India, the company Aryan Paper produced a paper bed for Covid-19 patients that could withstand a force of 200 kg. The advantages of this type of bed are lightness, being able to move or assemble easily, being durable, and being easy to dispose of and recycle.
This type of bed can be used as an emergency hospital bed for field hospitals, isolation areas, or dormitories at factories and industrial zones.
The Covid-19 outbreak in India had overwhelmed hospitals, creating an urgent need for extra beds for people who were isolated or being treated in the field. On the other hand, many companies adopted the form of staying at the factory after working time, which increased the demand for sleeping spaces for workers.
Rajneesh Anand, CEO of Richter Themis, said that the current situation forced workers to stay in the factory because it was not only due to traveling difficulties but also helped to reduce the risk of them being infected from outside.
>>> 5 Most convenient types of cardboard paper beds
According to Sunil Shah, managing director (MD) of Aryan Paper: “Each bed costs around Rs 1,000 (equivalent to 300,000 VND), excluding shipping costs. However, transportation costs are also quite economical because the components of this bed can be disassembled and stacked neatly in the truck. They can be assembled without any support from nails, glue, or tools."
“If we had to buy a metal bed (the cheapest bed available on the market), it would cost us around Rs 3,500 or more. The paper beds are a third the cost and they can be easily carried upstairs.”
Besides, after using, carton paper beds can be easily recycled and reused in an environmentally friendly manner. The drawback of corrugated paper beds is that they do not have wheels, so they are used in a fixed position and are not applied to emergent occasions.
Up to now, the idea of producing cardboard paper beds is still one of the economical, neat, and optimal solutions for field hospitals and isolation areas in the fight against Covid-19.
