It comes in handy more in a paper bag with a flat-bottomed base. However, it is a tough question for the machine to handle the work of making a flat-bottomed paper bag back then. Women did it manually by ticking the flat bottomed bases together with glue. It dawned on Margaret that doing that way was unreasonable. There had been still no man who had the innovative machine to help relieve the burden for workers, and she made no bones at inventing that machine.

A few years later, she introduced the machine that was useful that it could do the workload of 30 people folding and making a flat-bottom paper bag. Unluckily, after deciding for patenting the invention, it belonged to a man without her permission. However, He gave a reason that “In a women's position, she could not invent it”. After spending a period at the trial, she showed persuasive evidence about her original machine, the judge granted the patient to her.

From then on, she succeeded in inventing more than 80 different devices throughout her life. When she passed away, she gave a name for herself as the woman Edison in many newspapers.
